For years, the broad Generation Next coalition has been holding itself accountable to the students and families in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. To measure its progress, the coalition agreed to highlight specific data points on its six goal areas: kindergarten readiness, 3rd grade reading, 8th grade math, middle school social-emotional learning, high school graduation, and postsecondary credentials.
Though ensuring all students meet these benchmarks is our goal, we recognize they are not endpoints. Instead they are markers along the path of students’ and families’ progress towards a lifetime of success.
Generation Next commits to updating these data annually and displaying it in a way that is helpful to all of its stakeholders working to improve educational achievement in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.
